Essential Oils I Use

As a bit of a workaholic, I have found that aromatherapy benefits me greatly in my fast-paced lifestyle. I recently discovered the joy of the diffuser which has easily made aromatherapy a part of my daily life!

 

What is a diffuser?

A diffuser is a device that breaks down the essential oils into smaller molecules and disperses them into the air for a pleasant or calming effect (based on the oil used). The diffuser's job is to evenly spread the particles at a comfortable concentration that is easy to breathe and does not overbear the room.

AnjouSmell can elicit powerful physiologic, mental, and emotional responses and essential oils are quickly absorbed by the smell receptors. For this reason, essential oils are especially effective when used in an aromatic way, such as with a diffuser.

Diffusion is one of the simplest methods for using essential oils aromatically and for a busy person, it is a low effort way to introduce aromatherapy.

I use the Anjou diffuser as it has a 500ml tank and with one single fill, the scent will last 11-15 hours. It also BPA-free and uses cold air, which is ideal. Plus, it automatically shuts off if it has run out of water which is a great safety feature, if like me, you get to hectic to remember!

 

 

Oils I use

I keep one diffuser in my office and one in my bedroom. During the day when I am working, I like scents that promote an uplifting mood, energise, and revitalise me and of course, help to reduce stress. At night for sleeping, I want to make sure that I am completely relaxed and a have a deep restful sleep, ready for the coming day. I also have a scent I use for meditating, so I can feel calm and grounded.

 

For the Workday

I use a citrus-based aroma which is a blend of Wild Orange, Lemon, Grapefruit, Mandarin, Bergamot, Tangerine, Clementine, and Vanilla Bean. This one energises and refreshes me, uplifting my mood. It also has cleansing benefits which purifies the air and can help me reduce stress.

I also have a floral-based aroma which is a blend of Lavandin, Lavender, Melissa, Ylang Ylang, Amyris, Clary Sage, Hawaiian Sandalwood, Ho Wood, and Lemon Myrtle This one elevates my mood, promoting positivity and feelings of confidence. It also increases vitality and makes me feel uplifted.


For Sleep

I have a sweet and warm aroma which is a blend Lavender Flower, Cedarwood, Ho Leaf, Vetiver Root, Sweet Marjoram Leaf, Roman Chamomile Flower, Ylang Ylang Flower, Hawaiian Sandalwood and Vanilla Bean. It is simply perfect for tranquillity and relaxation. The aroma really helps to calm my mind and reduce tension and worry which promotes a restful sleep. Always needed after a busy day

 

For Meditation

I love a fresh and woody aroma from a blend of Spruce, Ho Wood, Frankincense, Blue Tansy, and Blue Chamomile, as it promotes such a feeling of being grounded. I love it as it gives me a sense of harmony, tranquillity, relaxation, and all over well-being
